| Basic Blacksmithing introduces you to the art and science of forging and shaping metals as a hobby. This class will cover safety, equipment, and techniques for your first blacksmithing projects, whether artistic or practical, and provide guidance on setting up your own blacksmith shop. Students will need to dress appropriately to operate a forge, and provide some of the their own PPE. Class will meet at the blacksmith shop at the Jasper County Historical Museum in Newton, IA.
