Description:
Every crime begins with a scene. The ability to properly manage a crime scene from response to evidence processing is vital to the inclusion or exclusion of suspects and theories. In this course, students will be presented with best practices to correctly identify, secure, collect, document, and preserve physical evidence and digital evidence. This will include crime scene identification and security, evidence documentation and collection, and laboratory submissions and reports. This course will include in-person classroom activities on October 15 & October 22 from 6:00-9:00pm. as well as weekly videos and students engagement through DMACC's online educational portal. This class includes a crime scene kit that the student will be able to keep. Class limited to current law enforcement practitioners.
