Description:
Brain injuries, specifically concussions, are in the spotlight more than ever, and have become the predominant safety issue for athletes of all ages. This symposium is designed to provide a multidisciplinary interactive education opportunity for those that interact with individuals suffering from brain injury related symptoms. It will provide an opportunity for team learning and consider the acute and long-term effects concussions have on the field and in the healthcare setting. The objective of this symposium is to disseminate knowledge regarding brain-behavior relationships as it applies to individuals at all levels. Discussions will be focused on the diagnosis, management, treatment and rehabilitation necessary to prevent the long-term effects of head trauma as well as nutritional solutions addressing symptoms. DMACC's First Annual Brain Injury Symposium is designed to educate all those who interface with concussion issues including school coaches, administrators and game day officials, and for those healthcare professionals who treat individuals with concussions, such as physicians, athletic trainers, first responders, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and more. This will be a conference you won't want to miss! Early registration ends June 30, 2017.
