Description:
Over four meetings we will survey the major themes in the making of modern Spain from the time when it was a Roman province to the end of the Franco dictatorship in the 1970s and beyond. In discussions of Spain's history, culture and landscape we will look at prominent places through travel slides from crusader castles, Moorish palaces, walled towns, great cathedrals, museums, royal palaces, pilgrimage trails, etc.
