Students will examine the regions, peoples, cities, and towns that have shaped the area's unique identity from antiquity to the present. The course highlights major archaeological sites, ancient Greek and Roman settlements, medieval communities, and the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites that reflect Southern Italy's exceptional cultural and historical significance. Through the study of history, art, architecture, archaeology, and local traditions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of one of the Mediterranean's most fascinating regions. | |
