Description:
The participant will be able through face-to-face discussions, lecture, and lab activities based with the trainer and on vehicle demonstrations be able to see and show the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, the Selective Catalytic Reduction, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid and Diesel Particulate Filter purpose and operation. In addition, the participants will become familiar with exhaust gases including HC, 02, CO, C02, Nox, PM, C0(NH2) H20, N2 and NH3 and how they are converted thru the DOC, SCR, DPF and DEF systems. Finally participants will look at other ways Diesel engines limit these harmful exhaust gases.
